According to Minister Sira Rego
The socialist government of tyrant Pedro Sánchez will attempt to ‘restrict and ban’ X (Twitter)
The Minister for Youth and Children in Pedro Sánchez's far-left government, Sira Rego, has expressed her support for ‘limiting and surely banning’ the use of the social network X (Twitter) among young people and the general population, given that it is a space where ‘flagrant violations of fundamental rights’ occur.
According to Efe, the minister made these statements at an event on digital activism organised at the headquarters of Catalunya En Comú, where she argued that the current digital space is ‘undemocratic’ because it is controlled by ‘a few digital leaders’.
Rego's statements come after Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that Spain will ban access to social media for children under 16 and adopt other measures to increase control of digital platforms and ensure that their executives take responsibility for violations that occur on their networks.
This announcement led Elon Musk, owner of X, to call Sánchez a ‘tyrant’ and ‘traitor to the Spanish people.’ At the recent event, Rego stated that ‘the next battle must aim to limit and, without a doubt, ban Twitter.’
